Biography and Academic Experience

Dr. Nawaz received his PhD degree from Institute of Chemistry, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2014. He also worked with Prof. Herbert Sixta on a collaborative project for 3 months in Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems, Aalto University, Espoo, Finlandand also attended several international conferences and visited several countries such as New Zealand, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, South Korea, Poland and Brazil. After returning to his home country, Pakistan, hejoined as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry, University of Education Lahore, Pakistan from April 2015 to April 2016. Then he moved to Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS) Beijing in May, 2016 and was engaged as a postdoctoral researcher until January 2019. Then he moved to Beijing Forestry University and worked as a senior research associate on “Talent Induction Program Category-A” in College of Materials Science and Technology from January 2020 to March 2023. He has published over 45 research articles and some of which are published in top leading international journals such as ACS Nano, Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Hazardous Materials, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Bioresource Technology, Analytical Chemistry and Carbohydrate Polymers etc. Currently, he has joined School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Huaiyin Normal University as a Professor of Chemistry.

 

Research Interest:

Green conversion of sustainable and renewable biomass (cellulose/lignin) into smart fluorescent materials for environment-responsive applications.
